About Dr. Khan

Dr. Khan is a psychiatrist certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He earned his medical degree at the University of Arizona College of Medicine–Phoenix and completed residency in psychiatry at UCLA–Olive View.

His clinical background includes inpatient psychiatry, where he cared for adults with a wide range of psychiatric conditions. He now focuses on outpatient care for adults.

Who he works with

White Moon Psychiatry serves adults with stable outpatient concerns. Dr. Khan's interests include:

  • Diagnostic clarification, especially when earlier diagnoses or treatments have not fit
  • Depression, anxiety and other mood concerns
  • Attention and executive-function difficulties in adults
  • Sleep and circadian rhythm, and how they affect mood and focus
  • Gaming and screen habits that have started to interfere with daily life
  • The relationship between mental health, lifestyle and metabolic health

How he works

Dr. Khan begins with listening. The first evaluation leaves room for your history in your own words, the details that shorter visits tend to skip, and your goals for treatment.

He explains his reasoning, including alternatives he considered, and is direct about uncertainty when it exists. Treatment decisions are made together. Medication is one option among several, chosen when it is likely to help and reviewed over time.

You see the same physician from your first evaluation through follow-up. With your permission, he coordinates with the therapists and primary care clinicians you already work with.
